Melodies Internationalは、ロンドン発のバイナルレコードレーベル兼DJグループで、Seiji Onoが率い、2015年にFloating Pointsによって設立されました。

彼らの任務は、稀で美しく、ソウルフルな音楽を発見し、共有することです。それは、これまでほとんどの人が耳にする機会のなかった音楽であり、その過程の中で紡がれた物語を伝えることでもあります。

2022年から、日本人アーティスト小袋成彬とともに特別なコラボレーションやイベントを通じて、Melodies Internationalの精神を日本に届ける活動も行っています。  今年4月には、MelodiesのSeiji OnoとTheo Terevが3度目の来日予定、レコードを詰めたバッグとともに国境を越え、ダンスフロア文化をさらに盛り上げて行くことでしょう。

Melodies International is a London-based reissue record label founded by Floating Points in 2015 and headed by Seiji Ono. Our mission is to uncover and share very special and relatively undiscovered sounds — music that few ears have been lucky enough to hear before.

Beyond the label, Melodies International is also a celebration of music and dancefloor culture, embodied by our You’re a Melody parties curated and led by resident DJs Seiji Ono, Theo Terev and Mafalda. From London to New York to Tokyo, these events have brought together dancers and DJs to celebrate the deeper shades of modern soul, disco, jazz, boogie, house and much more long after the lights come up. Out of this shared energy came the desire to give these anthems a second life beyond the club, making them more accessible while keeping the spirit of *You’re A Melody* alive.

Since then, we’ve reissued on vinyl everything from Trio Ternura’s *A Gira* to Frankie Knuckles’ mixes of Womack & Womack’s *MPB*, as well as *You’re A Melody* by Aged In Harmony and much more. More recently, we’ve collaborated with Dub legend Mad Professor and launched *Melodies Record Club*, a series of artist-curated 12” reissue compilations featuring selections from Four Tet, Ben UFO, and Hunee — continuing to share beautiful records with new ears and new generations.

Since 2022, we’ve also been working with Japanese artist Nariaki Obukuro, bringing the spirit of Melodies International to Japan through special collaborations and events, performing at Liquid Room, Club Metro, O-East, Fuji Rock, Kieth Flack and more.

ロンドンを拠点に活動するFrench-Japanese、プロデューサー、レーベル・マネージャーであるSeiji Onoは、2018年からMelodies Internationalを運営する傍ら、Floating Points、Mafalda、Layla、Antal、Sadar Bahar、Red Greg、Four Tet、Charlie Bonesらと共演する「You’re A Melody」パーティーのレジデントを務めている。
DJとしてのSeijiのセットには、あらゆる形のソウルフルな音楽への深い愛情が反映されている。最近のプロジェクトとしては、ブギーのレジェンド、リロイ・バージェスの最新シングル「Work It Out」の作曲とプロデュース、日本人アーティスト、小袋成彬との仕事がある。
また、チャーリー・ボーンズの「Do!!!You!!!Radio」で隔週番組のホストも務めている！また、チャーリー・ボーンズの「Do!!!You!!!Radio」とNTSの「Melodies International」で隔週番組を担当し、この音楽を特別なものにしているサウンドとストーリーを共有している。

パリ出身のテオ・テレヴは、2007年からシーンを牽引し、ダンスフロアを沸かせてきた。『Mamie’s』の共同創設者として、パリのアンダーグラウンド・ミュージック・カルチャーの発展に重要な役割を果たし、『Macki Music Festival』の立ち上げを支援したり、『La Ferme Du Bonheur』でのイベントをキュレーションしたりしたほか、後に香港で『Shi Fu Miz Festival』を共同設立し、アジアへと活動を拡大させた。

しかし、何よりもテオはDJである。深く幅広い音楽的センスを持つ熱心なレコード・ディガーとして、長年にわたり世界中でツアーを行い、コルシカ・スタジオ、レックス・クラブ、リキッドルーム、ラズマタズといった名だたるクラブでプレイしてきた。2019年からは「You’re A Melody」のレジデントを務め、Melodies Internationaのダンスフロアに独自の選曲をもたらしている。

テオにとってDJとは、つながり、場の空気を読み取り、そのエネルギーを吸収し、そのまま返すことだ。それは瞬間を共有し、人々を踊らせ、ダンスフロアを活気づけ続けることなのだ。

Originally from Paris, Theo Terev has been shaping scenes and moving dancefloors since 2007. As a co-founder of Mamie’s, he played a key role in pushingParis’ underground music culture forward, helping launch Macki Music Festival, curating events at La Ferme Du Bonheur, and later expanding into Asia by co-founding Shi Fu Miz Festival in Hong Kong.

But at the core of it all, Theo is a DJ first. A dedicated digger with a deep, eclectic taste, he’s spent years touring internationally and playing at clubbing institutions like Corsica Studios, Rex Club, Liquidroom, and Razzmatazz. Since 2019, he’s been a resident at You’re A Melody, bringing his unique selections to Melodies International’s dancefloors.

For Theo, DJing is all about connection, reading the room, feeding off the energy, and giving it right back. It’s about sharing moments, making people move, and keeping the dancefloor alive.

Dance Music Recordのバイヤーとしてキャリアを積む傍らDJ活動をスタートした後イギリスへ渡英。帰国後イギリスのオンライン・レコー ドストア、Juno Recordsの日本支部を7年間務めた後、京都へ拠点を移す。近年では精力的に海外へ活動の幅を広げ、’19には香港でのShi Fu Miz Festivalにて”BoilerRoom”への出演も果たす。’20年よりJazzy Sport Kyoto、’21年よりイタリアのSounds Familiarに所属。京都拠点のクリエイティヴ・チーム、Kyoto Jazzy Creative Councilのメンバーとしても活動中。

1995年千葉県市川市生まれ。
ハウス・ミュージック・コレクティブ『CYK』のメンバーであり、ソロにおいても国内外で多くのギグを重ねている。’20年9月に京都へ拠点を移して以降もより活動範囲を広げ、24年4月までに国内28都市でプレイ。ダンスミュージック及びクラビングにおけるピュア・エナジーを全国規模で放出し続けている。2023年3月にその集大成と道半ばの印としてのソロ・オールナイトロングセットを渋谷WWW Xで敢行した。

数々のアップカミングなDJ/プロデューサーを海外から招聘してきたCYKは、日本のみならず韓国や香港などのアジアや「Rainbow Disco Club」、「FUJI ROCK」などのフェスティバルにもラインナップされており、22年12月渋谷O-EASTにて行われたALL NIGHT LONGパーティーも盛況を見せた。

またグラフィックデザインやZINEの製作を行うなどあらゆるフォーマットでアウトプットを行なっている。”DJ”という肩書きに依拠せず活動する彼は、この時代に投下された一種の吸収体による純粋な反応に過ぎない。
