アーティスト、エンジニア、ミュージシャン、DJ。コンピューターとプログラミングを中心に音響、映像、エレクトロニクス、テキスタイルなど多様なメディアや領域で活動。2002年より参加型サウンドアートプロジェクト「The SINE WAVE ORCHESTRA」を共同主催。2013年よりDumb Typeのメンバー。2015年からは、京都の伝統的な西陣織の老舗「細尾」とのコラボレーション・プロジェクト「Quasicrystal」にてテキスタイル作品を制作・発表。2018年、サウンド・インスタレーション『Pulses/Grains/Phase/Moiré』にて、第22回 文化庁メディア芸術祭大賞に選出。2023年には、日野浩志郎、藤田正嘉らと共に打楽器を中心としたアンサンブル作品「Phase Transition」を発表。多様な表現方法を通じて、そのメディアの持つ特性を浮かび上がらせる作品群を制作している。
2023年12月には、サウンドアート／オーディオビジュアルパフォーマンスのシリーズ “Interference, Resonance”を主催した。

An artist, engineer, musician, and DJ, active in various media and fields including sound, visuals, electronics, and textiles, primarily centered around computers and programming. Since 2002, he has co-hosted the participatory sound art project ‘The SINE WAVE ORCHESTRA.’ In 2013, he became a member of Dumb Type. Since 2015, he has been collaborating with the traditional Nishijin textile company ‘Hosoo’ in Kyoto on the project ‘Quasicrystal,’ creating and exhibiting textile works. In 2018, his sound installation ‘Pulses/Grains/Phase/Moiré’ was awarded the Grand Prize at the 22nd Japan Media Arts Festival. In 2023, he released a percussion-centered ensemble piece ‘Phase Transition’ in collaboration with Koshiro Hino, Masayoshi Fujita, Kanna Taniguchi and Tsuyoshi Maeda. Through diverse forms of expression, he creates works that reveal the unique characteristics of various media. In December 2023, he organized the series of sound art/audio-visual performances titled ‘Interference, Resonance.’
