アーティスト／DJ／研究者。AIを用いた人間の創造性の拡張を研究と作品制作の両面から模索。これまでに手がけた作品は、ニューヨークMoMA、ロンドン・バービカンセンター、NTT InterCommunication Center、アルスエレクトロニカなどで展示されている。音楽作品としては、PROGRESSIVE FOrMなどのレーベルからのリリースや、故Nujabesとのコラボレーション作品があるほか、MUTEK Japan、Sónar+DなどでAIを用いたパフォーマンスを披露。著書として『創るためのAI 機械と創造性のはてしない物語』(BNN出版)がある。23年7月設立のNeutoneでは、AIを用いた新しい「楽器」の開発を手がける。

Artist/DJ/Researcher. After completing his Ph.D., in 2009, he founded the AI Creativity and Music Lab Qosmo, Inc., whose output has been exhibited at venues including The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York, and the Barbican Centre, London. Tokui/Qosmo’s performances employing AI have been showcased at music festivals including MUTEK and Sónar+D. Tokui is currently leading development of AI technologies for audio creators at Neutone Inc. His latest book “Surfing human creativity with AI — A user’s guide” was published in 2023.
